I am a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist, and have been in the mental health field for the past 10 years. I enjoy working with teens, families, couples, and individuals. As your therapist, I strive to help you define, realize, and achieve your goals. I enjoy helping my clients make positive changes by building a collaborative working relationship. I believe this relationship is built on trust, empathy, compassion and respect.
I hold a Masters Degree in Counseling Psychology, and a Bachelors Degree in Psychology. I have extensive experience working with substance abuse clients, and persons with co-occurring disorders. In addition to my private practice, I have worked in a variety of treatment settings, including community mental health facilities, residential substance abuse treatment facilities, and outpatient substance abuse programs.
My preferred methodology is based in Cognitive-Behavioral Psychology, which examines the relationship between our thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. I am trained in EMDR, (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) a specialized therapy to help resolve emotional distress, and have experience using this powerful therapy to treat a wide variety of issues.
In my personal life, I am a proud father of four children who keep me laughing and working hard to be my best. I enjoy spending time at baseball games, fishing, hiking, cooking, working on art projects, cycling, and working out at my local CrossFit box.
